The Colts secured a 50-39 victory over the Rams on Thursday, largely thanks to Wells, who nearly achieved a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Cortez has a record of 9-4 when Wells scores 15 or more points, but 4-5 otherwise. Kaden Ramirez also made a significant impact with eight points, contributing to his impressive 45.1% shooting accuracy. Cortez felt right at home as they bounced back from a road loss on Friday with a 71-65 victory over the Coronado Dons on Tuesday. This marks their seventh consecutive win against the Dons, showcasing their dominance in recent matchups.
Key players led the charge for Cortez, with Kaden Ramirez shining as he went 7-for-15, scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds. This performance boosts Ramirez’s impressive field goal percentage to 45.1%. Carter Wells also played a crucial role, achieving a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

Cortez secured another win against Coronado on Tuesday, January 6, with a 62-56 victory. This marks back-to-back wins for the Colts.
Key players Carter Wells and Kaden Ramirez led the team to victory. Wells contributed 22 points and six steals, shooting 8-for-14, while Ramirez scored 22 points, shooting 67% from the field, along with grabbing five rebounds. Wells has now scored at least a third of the Colts’ points in three consecutive games. Alijah Smock also played an important role, adding four points and four steals.
Cortez dominated the offensive boards, finishing with 12 offensive rebounds. They are now 4-1 when they achieve this level of performance on the glass.
