That’s a wrap on homecoming week! It was amazing to see everybody’s spirit day outfits, and the successful participation of the students this year. Students really showed off their school spirit with all the creative costumes, and makeup for the week. Monday being “Dress to Unimpress” with students wearing their most atrocious outfit to school. Tuesday, was soccer mom VS BBQ dad. On Wednesday we saw Artists like; PlayBoi Carti, The Weekend, Ke$ha, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and Steve Lacy all for favorite artist/ album day. Thursday was Halloween Day! Lastly, ” Human Yearbook”, students wore white shirts and got them signed by all their friends and teachers. During the school week we also had face painting for both lunches, all to prepare for the football game.
Friday’s Homecoming game was one to not miss out on! The seniors played their last High School football game, and some cheerleaders cheered for the last time tonight. It was bitter sweet to watch these families and friends come out and show their senior some love with posters and flowers for the last time. Cortez played the Glendale Prep Griffins. We saw those players give it everything they had for their last football game of the 2024 season. They never backed down despite the intense competition between the teams. The scoreboard may have shown a loss of 23-24, but the spirit and tenacity they played gave them their own win. These Colts should hold their heads high, knowing they gave it their all until the very end.
